Have you ever dreamt about being the Queen or King sitting on your throne with all your loyal subjects attentive to your every word? Well, now you have the chance to make that dream a reality! You can become the International Soca Monarch or the Groovy Soca Monarch of Trinidad Carnival.

Since 1993, The Caribbean Prestige Foundation for the Performing Arts, has been hosting the Soca Monarch competition on Fanastic Friday (the Friday before Carnival Monday & Tuesday). This year’s celebrity panel of judges even included American thespian, Danny Glover.
So go start writing your Soca hit and fine-tune your unique voice and apply at Soca Monarch’s website!

Trinidad&Tobago Carnival 2009’s Soca Monarch was none other than the lovely, pregnant Fay-Ann Lyons. Her winning performance was posted and you find it in the older posts!
